Furano Half-day Snowshoe Tours (Guided English Tour) 中文
Just forty minutes from Furano is the southern end of Daisetsuzan National Park, sometimes referred to as the ‘Playground of the Gods.’ It is the largest national park in Japan and is filled with ancient forests, live volcanoes and hot thermal springs.
You will snowshoe in the Tokachidake area through a primeval forest surrounded by 700 year old spruce trees. From there you will see the magnificent volcano of Mae Tokachi Mountain and billowing smoke coming from its giant caldera. Afterwards warm up in one of the area’s famous hot thermal springs.
Another option is to snowshoe around the Shirogane area, also 40 minutes drive from Furano. There is a silver birch forests and some magnificent waterfalls to see. ?The famous turquoise pond, colored by the sulphur from the active volcano will take your breath away. Afterwards you will enjoy an outdoor hot spring by the side of a river.
The snow-shoe part of the tour will be around an hour to an hour and a half depending on your fitness levels. The walking area is flat.
