Niseko Off-piste Week (Western Hokkaido)

This is a powder journey to one of the snowiest places on the planet. On this trip you will ski/ride some of the deepest snow you have ever ridden, cat ski with views of the ocean, bathe in traditional hot thermal springs and experience the vibrant city of Sapporo.

The journey begins in the Niseko area which snows up to 15 meters over the course of a season and where snowfall can totally bury cars overnight. From our base in Niseko you will ski/ride 4 different ski resort off-piste areas before transferring to Sapporo where you will visit a further 2 resorts.

ITINERARY
Transfer to Niseko. The village of Niseko sits in the shadow of the great Mt Yotei, also known as the Mt Fuji of the north.

Day 1
Warm up day on one of the four interlinked Niseko United resorts. There is easy access to the many off-piste terrain areas and some amazing tree skiing.

Day 2
This is the first of our guided days. The plan is to take you on a circuit of the best backcountry terrain from the Niseko/Annupuri peak. On a clear day the views from the top is amazing, with the Pacific Ocean on one side and Mt Yotei on the other. Our descents will average around 900 vertical meters. The last run of the day will finish at one of the thermal hot springs of the area.

Day 3
Today we will visit a localfs resort 40 minutes in the heart of the Annupuri Range. We will spend half the day skiing the off-piste before a one hour hike to the peak. The ski from the top is down an open bowl and in to the trees, finishing at another hot-spring surrounded by a boiling hot volcanic pond.

Day 4
You will be cat skiing today on an abandoned ski resort. The runs have superb views of the ocean and we will finish with some of the freshest sushi you have tasted in the local fishing village at its base.

Day 5
From Niseko we transfer to the Sapporo area. On route we visit a ski resort that gets even more accumulations of snow than Niseko.

Day 6
Our last day will be at one of the local Sapporo resorts. We then celebrate in the Susukino district which is famous in Japan for its night-life.

Day 7
Transfer to Chitose Airport.
