Ski Touring (Overview)
We have chosen three traditional hot spring lodges which are situated in the heart of the mountains so that we can provide you with a traditional Japanese backcountry experience.
Hot-spring lodges are traditional Japanese guest houses where you can experience Japanese culture and enjoy the comforts of Japanese hospitality and service. You will sleep in private tatami mat rooms on futons which are laid out each night.
Backcountry days are finished in the lodgefs hot thermal springs before sitting down to a delicious Japanese dinner in the comfort of a yukata or robe. To truly experience traditional Japanese culture and ski isolated Hokkaido backcountry terrain, a few nights at one of these lodges is highly recommended.
Kamiho and Hakusou Lodges are situated in the Daisetsuzan Range, meaning eBig Snowy Mountains.f The area has the highest peaks in Hokkaido that average 2,000 meters of alpine and tree skiing. High precipitation amounts and low humidity levels produce some of the lightest and most dependable powder in the world.
The Annupuri Mountain Range is the western most mountains of Hokkaido, and is made up of peaks averaging just over 1,000 meters. Across the valley stands the massive cone of Mt Yotei which is known as eHokkaidofs Mt Fuji.' The area is renowned for precipitation accumulations of up to 16 meters of snow each winter and for exceptional tree skiing. Goshi Lodge is located here.
