Multi-day Ski Tour, Central Hokkaido 6 days/ 5 nights

Ski the highest peaks and tour amongst the live volcanoes of Hokkaido, finishing each day in natural hot thermal springs. We base from a hot springs lodge high in the largest national park in Japan with world class ski touring right outside its door.

THE AREA
The Tokachidake area of Daisetsuzan National Park in Central Hokkaido. The Range contains the highest peaks in Hokkaido that average 2,000 meters of alpine and tree skiing.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
In order that the participants are of similar abilities we have rated each trip with Ski Ability Levels@and Ski Touring Levels. To make the most of your trip we recommend that you have a good level of aerobic fitness.

ITINERARY

Day 1 (March 31)
We meet you at Asahikawa Airport at 3pm and transport you to the Tokachidake Range of the Daisetsuzan National Park. Our base will be Ryounkaku which is a hot springs lodge situated at the highest driveable point in Hokkaido, with sweeping views of the Furano valley and incredible ski touring right outside its door.

Day 2 (April 1)
Today we climb the Three Step Mountain which takes in spectacular views of the Furano Valley and Mt Tokachidake, the live steaming volcano for which the area is named. We finish the day in Hakuginsou Hot Springs that has views of the volcano.

Day 3 (April 2)
Todayfs tour is to some of the finest tree skiing in Hokkaido. Our plan is to ski the eGiant Coursef which is famous in Japan having featured in many Japanese ski movies.

Day 4 (April 3)
Today will be spent skiing the front side of Mt Tokachi. If you are brave enough, a highlight is to touch the volcanic steam that billows out of its great vent. The day will finish with a soak in Fukiage Hot Spring which will re-energize tired bodies.

Day 5 (April 4)
On our last day we travel to Asahidake, 2,290m which is the highest mountain in Hokkaido. You will be awed by this conical shaped volcano that looms over the ski area and sends out plumes of smoke from its many vents. From the Roof of Hokkaido you be rewarded with spectacular views of the whole Daisestuzan Range of Mountains.

Day 6 (April 5)
After breakfast we will be transferring you to Asahikawa Airport for your return journey.
